Malko Kadievo, a village near Stara Zagora, is hosting a hunting falcons festival. The event is organized by the Green Balkans-Stara Zagora association, under the EU programme LIFE.

At 6.30 PM on 29 July, environmentalists, dancers, singers and artists will come together in the village square. As is usual, birds from the clinic of the Wildlife Rescue Centre will be released into the wild during the event, the organizers from Green Balkans-Stara Zagora say.

Field work regularly takes place in Malko Kadievo for recovery of the species. 19 young hunting falcons have been released this year alone, bringing their total number to 160. The focus of the event will be the hunting falcon Romeo, father to many of the young falcons released into the wild.
