US supports dialogue between Sofia and Skopje, US State Department spokesperson says

In an interview with the North Macedonia version of the Voice of America, the spokesperson for the US State Department states the US encourages the dialogue between the governments of Bulgaria and North Macedonia for finding a solution to the differences between them, BGNES news agency reports. Asked whether the US has been given guarantees by Bulgaria that it won’t impose a new veto on North Macedonia’s negotiations with the EU, the US State Department spokeperson says that the US strongly supports North Macedonia’s full integration into the EU. Alongside the Western Balkans, including North Macedonia, the EU will be stronger and more prosperous, he says, and adds that the US encourages the dialogue between the governments of Bulgaria and the Republic of North Macedonia for finding a solution to their differences and the fulfillment of the agreements already achieved.
