The Ministries of Energy and Regional Development published the plans for the territorial development of the regions of Stara Zagora, Pernik and Kyustendil. "We are talking about an investment of more than €1 billion from European funds, which will affect the fate of tens of thousands of people in Bulgaria, Prime Minister Nikolay Denkov said before the start of the parliamentary session on Wednesday.

"In the coming weeks, the plans will be discussed in the regions and with the social partners so that all proposals are heard, updated and sent to the European Commission by the end of September.

"By the end of the year it is expected that they will be adopted after negotiations so that we can sort out the debts and start the investments," Denkov explained. Denkov pointed out that these plans provide for a number of measures related not only to the preservation of jobs, but also to the development of the regions in a state-of-the-art technological, environmentally friendly and sustainable way.
