Bulgarian swimmer Petar Mitsin has achieved another big success by winning the title in the 400 m freestyle during the European U23 Swimming Championships in Dublin, Ireland.

Mitsin was the youngest among the finalists as he will turn 18 in a week. The Bulgarian triumphed after stopping the clock at 3:46.16 min. Daniel Wiffen (IRE), remained second. After the first 150 meters Mitsin was behind 22-year-old Wiffen, but then started to lead and by the end of the final did not lose his position. American Rex Maurer placed third.

Mitsin won three European titles at the Championships in Belgrade earlier this year and broke the world junior record in the 400m freestyle.

Bulgarian Yordan Yanchev also took part in the final. He performed well and finished fifth with a time of 3:51.09 minutes.
