Code red over extreme fire danger has been issued for Bulgaria for Monday (August 21) and the next two days. In a message on its Facebook page, the Fire Safety and Civil Protection Directorate General with the Ministry of Interior warns citizens to be careful and observe fire safety rules.
According to the fire danger map of the National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology, published by the Fire Safety and Civil Protection Directorate General, parts of 11 districts (Blagoevgrad, Ruse, Razgrad, Silistra, Haskovo, Kardzhali, Stara Zagora, Yambol, Sliven, Burgas and Plovdiv) are at the greatest wildfire risk. A total of 174 fires have been put out in Bulgaria in the last 24 hours. The Fire Safety and Civil Protection Directorate General has responded to 208 calls. One person was injured.
