Danube bridge is now open to traffic

Traffic is now open to cars on Danube bridge, after which heavy duty vehicles will also be let through, the BTA reports.

The Bulgarian section of the bridge is in need of an overhaul which is part of the programme of the Road Infrastructure Agency, RIA. The RIA is expected to open an invitation to tender for the overhaul of the bridge on the basis of the technical project developed, as well as a tendering procedure for the supervision of the building works.
