Nature has caused damage to the tune of 25-30 million BGN on the territory of Tsarevo municipality, Mayor Georgi Lapchev said after a meeting of the Crisis Staff. He reported on a conversation with Finance Minister Assen Vassilev, who assured him that the local administration could rely on state funds to overcome the consequences of the floods along Bulgaria's Southern Black Sea coast.

"The clearing of debris continues, many places have already been restored, life is gradually returning to normal," the mayor summed up.

Bulgaria's Minister of Ecology, Julian Popov, reported on the pollution of the sea water, which, according to him, is not serious and is a normal phenomenon after a storm. However, the health authorities recommend that people not enter the sea near Tsarevo because of the huge masses of muddy water that came into its water area.

According to the Minister of Health, Hristo Hinkov, there is currently no serious hygienic-epidemiological risk. The state chief inspector Angel Kunchev added that the water supply in the villages affected by the disaster has been restored, but recommended that the water be used only for hygienic needs.

It also became clear that the European Commission has provided Bulgaria with data from the Copernicus satellite system for assessing the situation in the affected areas. The institution is ready to come to the rescue if Bulgaria asks for assistance under the EU Civil Protection Mechanism.

Meanwhile, the Municipality of Tsarevo has announced that they need a lot of construction equipment and manpower to help with clearing debris in people's yards and basements.
