Agricultural University of Plovdiv continues to attract foreign students

Minister of Education Galin Tsokov attended the opening of the 2023-2024 academic year at the Agricultural university in Plovdiv. The university has the highest rating in Bulgaria’s university rating system in horticulture and plant protection, and is recognizable in Europe, Minister Tsokov said. Congo’s Minister of Forest Economy Rosalie Matondo and Minister of Social Affairs Irène Esambo Diata, who have both graduated the Agricultural University of Plovdiv, were special guests at the ceremony.

More than 30,000 agronomists, engineers, economists, ecologists have graduated the university in its 80-year long history, of them more than 3,000 are foreign citizens. There are students currently studying there from Pakistan, South Africa, Greece, Turkey, Moldova, Ukraine, Mongolia and China. Students from Bangladesh, Egypt, Cameroon, Nigeria, Pakistan and Slovenia, who have studied at the university, have obtained their double international soil science master’s degrees.
