Increase in tourists coming to SPA resorts registered over first 8 months of 2023

Municipalities offering SPA tourism have reported a 12% increase in the number of tourists for the January-20 August period, compared to the same period of last year, Deputy Minister of Tourism Irena Georgieva announced at the opening of the 10th congress of the Bulgarian Union of Balneology and Spa Tourism in Pamporovo. More than 730,000 tourist registrations have been reported in Velingrad, Hisarya, Sandanski, Troyan, Pavel Banya, Razlog, Gurmen, Velingrad, Devin, Kyustendil and Vurshets. 680, 000 of them are by Bulgarian tourists, the growth rate here is 11%. An increase in the number of foreign tourists has also been reported. There is interest in Bulgaria’s mineral resorts from tourists from North Macedonia, Israel, Romania, Greece and Serbia, efforts are being made to attract tourists from Germany as well.
