Bulgaria will not provide S-300 missile systems to Ukraine, PP-DB MP Ivaylo Mirchev said. He stressed that Bulgaria's aid to the invaded country would not put at risk the country's national security. "Bulgaria does not have any unnecessary air defence complexes, but we have to wait for experts of the Ministry of Defence to say whether there are missiles that are defective and can be provided for parts," Ivaylo Mirchev added. The lawmaker was clear that Sofia would not send the currently operating missile complexes because they are extremely important for the national security.

Hristo Gadzhev, the chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on Defence, also said that there was no discussion of providing air defence systems to Ukraine.
