The old mosque "Kurshumlu mosque" in Bulgaria's Pazardzhik will be renovated with additional costs approved by the Denkov cabinet under the budget of the Council of Ministers for 2023 in the amount of BGN 6,311,800.

The building, which was declared a cultural monument of local importance in 1964, is in need of urgent restoration. It has a 356-year history, it was built in 1659, and now it is crumbling - the cube is cracked, the dome is also in danger of collapse.

A donation account was opened some time ago to collect the amount from the Muslim community.

The minaret of the Mosque in Pazardzhik was the highest, and on top it was covered with lead, which is why it was called the Kurshum Mosque(kurshum meaning bullet).

This is the only mosque that has survived from the Ottoman period of Pazardzhik, as well as its inscription, which states that it was built as an eternal house of God for the Muslims.
