Hundreds of coal miners and energy workers from across the country gathered for a protest in the so-called "Triangle of Power" - the space between the Council of Ministers, the Presidency and the parliament building, BGNES reports.

"For a clear and secure energy future for Bulgaria" is the slogan of the protest. It is organized by the two largest trade unions in Bulgaria - CITUB and CTU "Podkrepa". The demonstrators carry banners reading "We want to work in Bulgaria! Don't turn us into immigrants!", "Are we invisible to you?", etc.

"The plans for a just transition of Stara Zagora are extremely restrictive towards the Maritsa East complex, towards the workers in the complex, towards the whole region and there is practically no future for the complex and its workers," said Deyan Dyakov, chairman of the CITUB structure in TPP Maritsa East 2.
