There are currently no Russian warships in the Bulgarian economic zone in the Black Sea. This was stated by Chief of Defence Admiral Emil Eftimov. In his words, the Russian forces have withdrawn after preventive actions of the Bulgarian Navy and NATO.
"We stepped up surveillance in these maritime spaces, and then measures were taken in a collective format, i.e. the issue was raised at the NATO level to get support at the level of situational awareness. Since then, we have not seen any Russian ships entering and approaching this area, and I confirm this at this time."
