The President will not allow the services to be compromised, Vice President Iliana Iotova said

"The distrust in the services is expressed by people who want to put their hand on the special services and for the first time in our recent history have a political hand on them, Vice President Iliana Iotova told journalists in Veliko Tarnovo. Ms Iotova said this with regard to the idea of the "We continue the change - Democratic Bulgaria" (PP-DB) coalition to create a Single Intelligence Service, uniting the State Intelligence Agency and the military intelligence, headed by a chairman to be elected by the National Assembly, not by the president. 

In Veliko Tarnovo, Iliana Iotova attended the ceremony of raising the national flag on the occasion of Independence Day and took part in the festive procession to the Mother Bulgaria monument.

In her speech she pointed out that independence is the foundation of the establishment of the Bulgarian state.
