On the occasion of the 115th anniversary of Bulgaria's Independence Day

On the occasion of the 115th anniversary of the declaration of the Independence of Bulgaria from September 22, 1908, Bulgaria's former capital, the town of Veliko Tarnovo, is hosting a rich program.
On September 23 (Saturday), at 9:15 a.m. at Trapezitsa railway station in Veliko Tarnovo, a historical reenactment will be presented of the arrival of Prince Ferdinand, Prime Minister Alexander Malinov and officials, their welcome by the mayor and Tarnovo citizenship and the reading of the Manifesto for declaration of the independence of Bulgaria and the proclamation of Ferdinand as the Bulgarian king.



Part of the event is an attraction trip from Gorna Oryahovitsa to Tryavna on the vintage train "Korona Express", pulled by a steam locomotive and including the personal saloon car of Tsar Boris III, of Tsarina Joanna and a first-class saloon car. Train travel is via pre-purchased tickets.
