Petar Stoychev, recognized as the most successful marathon swimmer in the world, is undertaking a new ice challenge. The Bulgarian swimmer is off to Mongolia to take part in a round of the Ice Swimming World Cup for the 2023/2024 season

The competition from the calendar of the International Ice Swimming Association (IISA) will take place in Lake in Hovsgol. It is at least several million years old and is considered the "younger brother of Lake Baikal". The disciplines are 500 meters, 1000 meters and one mile, called "ice mile". The lake freezes from late October to April. Ice swimming means the water temperature must be below 5 degrees.

A test swim of 2 minutes is scheduled for October 4. The race is on October 5.
