Twenty-one elite athletes will participate at the "Sofia Marathon" this Sunday, October 8. The 40th edition of the capital's largest and most popular sporting event brings together more than 5,000 runners of various age groups from a record 57 countries, who will compete at four running distances

Representatives of the world's long-distance running elite from Kenya, Morocco, Ethiopia and Rwanda will also participate at the ''Sofia Marathon''. There will be temporary changes in traffic because of the sporting event. The 40th Sofia Marathon will start in Prince Alexander I Square, in front of the National Art Gallery. The marathon will finish there, too. From 08:00 am until 15:30 pm, traffic, including public transport, will be temporarily diverted to alternative routes.
