The protests of Bulgarian miners and energy workers from the Maritsa East complex continue for the 11th day. Road blocks continue on the Trakia highway at the 208th kilometer, at the junction in the direction of Stara Zagora and in the direction of Haskovo, on the Pass of the Republic and on the Sub-Balkan road near Gurkovo.

The protesters are also preparing for effective strike action, the decision was made at an impromptu meeting on the Trakia highway near Stara Zagora.

The main demand of the unions at the complex remains that the just transition plan be withdrawn and revised.

In order to start an effective strike, more than 3,400 signatures must be collected from the miners and more than 50% of the workers in thermal power plants, after which the date will be announced. Until then, the road blocks will remain.

A national protest is also being prepared for Thursday, October 12.
