Bulgaria's Foreign Ministry has urged people to avoid visiting areas in Jordan where demonstrations and crowds have gathered because of the latest escalation in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. The Ministry's Situation Center reported that there were mass protests in the capital Amman, the cities of Zarqa, Irbid, Russeifa and in settlements in the northwestern part of the kingdom.

Tourist visits to the regions bordering Israel and the West Bank and the listed cities should be avoided.

In the capital, the Old City and the Al-Husseini and Al-Kaluti"mosques should not be visited, the ministry warns.

Those evacuating from Israel through Jordan are reminded that they must have pre-arranged transportation waiting for them on the Jordanian side of the border.

In case of need for assistance, Bulgarian citizens can contact the Embassy of Bulgaria in Amman or the direct telephone numbers of the Situation Center:

+359 2 948 24 04;

+359 2 971 38 56

or by email: crisis@mfa.bg.
