National Assembly holds a debate on the motion of no-confidence against the cabinet

''The government is killing the Bulgarian energy sector. This is a national security risk'', the Chairperson of the Bulgarian Socialist Party Kornelia Ninova said during the debate on the no-confidence motion against the government. The motion was tabled by the Bulgarian Socialist Party, Vazrazhdane and There is Such a People (ITN) party. ITN demanded the resignation of Bulgaria’s Minister of Energy Rumen Radev.

"The cabinet must stay in power, because it is setting a clear direction for this country's development. We have started reforms postponed for years", Bulgaria’s Minister of Finance Assen Vassilev replied. ‘Our actions have been aimed at preserving the coal-fired power plants for the sake of Bulgaria's energy security, Energy Minister Rumen Radev said from the parliamentary rostrum.
