Government plane brings back 96 more people from Israel

Ninety-six people, most of them with Bulgarian citizenship, landed shortly after midnight at Sofia airport on a flight from Tel Aviv. They were transported on a government Airbus plane, the Foreign Ministry said.

As on the previous three flights with evacuees from Israel, the arrivals were welcomed by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mariya Gabriel.

"Bulgaria was the first country to evacuate people who needed help to return home. We are guided by two things - concern for our compatriots and coordinated action," she said. Maria Gabriel stressed that the government aircraft will fly as long as possible and as long as there are Bulgarian citizens who need to leave Israel.
