The candidates for the local election have invested EUR 578, 000 in advertising

The candidates for mayors and municipal councilors have spent over EUR 578, 000, without VAT, on advertising in the media since the beginning of the election campaign, the Institute for Public Environment Development monitoring shows.

The biggest sums were spent by the parties and coalitions currently represented in parliament. During the past 20 days, the list is topped by GERB with EUR 119, 000, followed by We Continue the Change/Democratic Bulgaria with EUR 60, 000, Bulgarian Socialist Party for Bulgaria with EUR 58,000. The money spent by the above formations accounts for 60% of the sums invested in media advertising so far.

Two more political formations are in the top 6 - Sbor, which is not represented in parliament with EUR 38,000, and the Movement for Rights and Freedoms, DPS with EUR 29,000.
