165 kilometers of new and repaired roads that are still in warranty were inspected in September by order of the Ministry of Regional Development and Public Works. In more than 50% of the inspected sections, deviations from the quality and technical requirements were found, Minister Andrey Tsekov said.
Among the identified problems are discrepancies in the thickness of the asphalt layers and irregularities in the evenness of the pavement. Defective sections under warranty will have to be repaired by the contractors, the ministry said.
