For the 57th time, Yambol is hosting the republican running competition "Diana", known as the oldest competition in the athletics calendar in Bulgaria. More than 80 competitors from 21 clubs in the country have registered, organizers announced. They are divided into eight age groups. Students from the 5th  to 12th grade from Yambol schools will participate in the sports event.‎

The first edition of the Diana running competition was on December 4, 1966, on the initiative of the late distinguished coach Velislav Velev. Over the years, the competition has been preserved thanks to coach Yordan Atanasov. Some of the most prominent Bulgarian track and field athletes took part in it - Vasilena Amzina, Nikolina Shtereva, Totka Petrova, Mikhail Zhelev and others.‎

The competition will start at 10:00 a.m. in front of the Diana sports hall in the town  park, where the finals will also take place. The organizer is the Athletics Club Tundzha - Yambol, with the support of the Bulgarian Athletics Federation and the Municipality of Yambol.
