Bulgarians citizens evacuated from Gaza with the first group of foreigners

36 Bulgarians citizens and members of their families have been evacuated safely from the Gaza Strip and are now safe in Egypt. The 37th chose to stay, said Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Mariya Gabriel.

“In a complex and extremely dynamic situation, thanks to the coordinated efforts of the ministry and the actions by our representatives in Cairo, Ramallah and Tel Aviv, the evacuation of our compatriots across Rafah border crossing was carried out successfully with the first possible group allowed to leave Gaza. I would like to thank all people involved in achieving and carrying out the crossing,” Mariya Gabriel said. All of the people evacuated are in good condition.

The Foreign Ministry is in constant contact with the missions in Cairo, Ramallah and Tel Aviv in order to provide our compatriots the best aftercare possible, the Bulgarian Ministry of Foreign Affairs states.
