The National Assembly failed to reach a quorum on its first day after the vacation it voted for itself before the local election. After ascertaining there was no quorum, National Assembly President Rosen Zhelyazkov scheduled a parliamentary sitting at 9 AM tomorrow.
MPs from We Continue the Change/Democratic Bulgaria (PP/DB), Vazrazhdane, Bulgarian Socialist Party for Bulgaria and There Is Such a People were in plenary, while the seats of GERB/SDS and the Movement for Rights and Freedoms (DPS) remained empty.
“We have a meeting of the parliamentary group at the party’s headquarters,” said Desislava Atanasova, chair of the GERB/SDS parliamentary group. She added there were many issues that needed to be analysed in detail, including how the legislative programme and the programme of governance of the ruling coalition with PP/DB is to be implemented. “What is worrying us is that decisions are being made, including legislative initiatives, without being discussed with us,” Atanasova said.
