Bulgarian girls defeat Serbia at European team chess championship

The girls from Bulgaria’s national chess team defeated Serbia by 3-1 in the fifth round of the European team chess championship in Budva, Montenegro.

The Bulgarian competitors, who have not had a loss yet, played the game correctly from a tactical point of view, grabbing the advantage on board 2 and 3 with Nurgyul Salimova defeating Adela Velikic and Viktoria Radeva defeating Jovana Eric.

Before that, on board 1, Antoaneta Stefanova drew versus Teodora Injac, and on board 4, playing with the black, Gergana Peycheva also drew versus Tijana Blagojevic.

Top of the standings after the 5th round are France and Azerbaijan with 9 points each, Bulgaria is third with 8 points.
