Ice cream is a temptation for many people but the high amount of sugar and fat turns it into a calorie bomb that could be harmful to human health.
Bulgarian Alexander Marinov is also among the people who love ice cream but had to limit its consumption. A year ago he created a new recipe for protein ice cream, in which he invested all his savings - about 8,000 euros. In order for the new ice cream to reach people outside his family circle, 20-year-old Alexander decided to seek funding for his start-up company. He received 30,000 euros, which he used to buy freezers and currently produces about 1 ton of ice cream per day.
His ice creams are available mainly in gyms in Sofia but the young entrepreneur hopes to reach other big cities in the country such as Plovdiv, Varna and Burgas next year. Alexander and his team also dream of promoting the brand abroad, as the first country they would start with is Germany.
