We shall find out whether Bulgaria meets the criteria for the introduction of the euro in June, 2024, said Bulgarian National Bank Deputy Governor Andrey Gurov, in an interview with Nova TV.
The convergence report which Bulgaria is expecting of the European Commission and the European Central Bank will be released around mid-2024. The updated plan for the introduction of the euro envisages a large-scale information campaign. “The prices in Leva and euro should start to appear a month after the EC reports are received – around June next year,” said Andrey Gurov.
