Woman of Bulgarian origin kidnapped by Hamas has been released

Photo: bntnews.bg

Meiraf Tali, a woman of Bulgarian origin who was held captive by Hamas for almost two months, has been freed during exchange of hostages between Israel and the groups in the Gaza Strip. The information was also confirmed by her stepfather Nesim Alfandari. He told BNT that Meiraf Tali is currently in hospital to undergo all the necessary examinations and then she would go home.

Meiraf Tali was abducted on October 7 from Nir Oz kibbutz, situated 5 kilometers away from the Gaza border. Meiraf's biological father, who is deceased, is Bulgarian. Therefore, her family was trying to get a Bulgarian passport for Meiraf Tali, hoping that it would help her release.
