A women's charity party kicked off the Christmas holidays in Chicago, the Bulgarian Association of Chicago announced. The event, organised jointly with the Bulgarica Cultural Centre, raised nearly 7 thousand dollars.
Part of the funds will be sent to the charities "Angels for Bulgaria" and "One Percent Change" for their December initiatives, and another thousand dollars will be divided among three smaller campaigns.
"The rest will be used to transport the 200 boxes of donations collected in November to Bulgaria. We look forward to working together every day to prove that kindness is contagious. Just be a carrier," said the association.
