Average salary in Bulgaria reaches 1022.58 EUR

In the third quarter of 2023, the average salary for Bulgaria rose to BGN 2,000 (1022.58 euro). The increase on an annual basis is 14.7%, according to the data of the Ministry of Labour and Social Policy. 

The highest average salary is in the city of Sofia - 2,722 BGN /1,391.74 EUR/, which is 36.1% higher than the average salary for the country and 13.9% more than in the third quarter of 2022, they indicate from the ministry. 

In the third quarter of 2023, contract employment decreased by 1.5% compared to the second quarter, reaching 2.30 million people
