President Rumen Radev honoured the Ambassador of Egypt Khalid Emara with the Order of the Madara Horseman, First Class. The diplomat received the highest state award for his merits in the development of bilateral relations.

“Egypt has been and will continue to be a key partner to Bulgaria in this region. A partner whose cooperation we will continue to count on,” the Bulgarian president said. “Bulgaria has the biggest volume of trade with Egypt out of all countries in the Middle East and Africa,” Rumen Radev said further and thanked Ambassador Emara for his efforts which have helped boost spheres like the economy, energy, defence, agriculture, science, culture and tourism.

Ambassador Emara pointed out that as his mandate in Sofia draws to an end, he will be leaving Bulgaria with his family “brokenhearted” because they feel such a deep affection for Bulgaria and have such good friends.
