Three main resorts announce opening dates of 15 and 16 December

Bulgaria's ski season kicks off

The official opening of the ski season in the Pamporovo resort will be on December 15, according to the Pamporovo Ski website. There is already enough snow on Mount Snezhanka and at the Studenets ski centre. A new 6-person chairlift will be put into operation and the southern ski area has been renovated.

The winter season in Borovets also starts on 15 December. The Borosport centre informs that the slopes are prepared. The news is that the ski centre Sitnyakovo has a large number of new snow guns of the latest generation.

The opening of the new winter season in Bansko will be on December 16, the municipality announced. It will start at 9.30 am on the Banderishka meadow with games and a concert. Bansko skiers will ski down the Tomba slope as part of the show. The second part of the programme will take place at the main square in Bansko at 17.30 with a culinary show. The official opening of the 2023-2024 ski season at 6 p.m. will be attended by three-time Olympic gold medallist Deborah Compagnoni from Italy and five-time overall World Cup champion Marc Girardelli from Austria.
