“Bulgarian tourism is part of Bulgaria’s foreign policy. You give the country its face in the eyes of millions of Europeans every year, and you have a significant share in Bulgaria’s successes,” said Prime Minister Nikolai Denkov in a video address to the participants in the 8th Annual Tourism Awards ceremony.

PM Denkov expressed the hope that in a few days’ time we shall be able to congratulate one another on the news that Bulgaria has become part of the Schengen area. “This will remove a huge obstacle in the way of Bulgarian tourism, and it will be up to the quality of work in the industry and the state to make next year even more successful,” the Bulgarian prime minister said further.

Ovech fortress above the town of Provadia won the votes of Bulgarians for the annual tourism prize. The prizes in the different categories were awarded by Minister of Tourism Zaritsa Dinkova.
