Photo: BTA

A row in Parliament was sparked by photos shown by Georgi Svilensky of the BSP of a Christmas party of Yes Bulgaria, Democrats for a Strong Bulgaria and Democratic Bulgaria, at which guests ate cakes decorated to look like the Soviet Army monument.

The icing on one cake was covered with scattered sugar heads and feet of figures from the dismantled monument, while the other cake depicted the monument before it was dismantled. Svilensky called the participants 'the new barbarians'. Speaking outside parliament, Ivan Chenchev of the BSP called for the resignation of all politicians who took part in the cake celebrations.
