Grigor Dimitrov defeated former world number one Andy Murray to qualify for the second round and the singles at the ATP 250 hardcourt tournament in Brisbane, Australia. He got off to a successful start in the doubles yesterday with partner Sebastian Korda (USA).

Second seed Grigor Dimitrov beat Andy Murray in three sets 4-6 7-5 6-2 in Brisbane after almost two and a half hours of play. His next match will be against the lucky loser Li Tu from Australia.
This match will be remembered for something strange, reports sports website tennistonic. The Bulgarian sensation broke four strings during the match. In the on-court interview, he said that the problem could have been the high humidity in Brisbane and confessed that he was growing nervous because he feared he could finish his set of rackets. He only had three left.

Bulgarian women's number one Viktoriya Tomova was also due to play her first singles match in Brisbane today, but the match was postponed until tomorrow due to rain.
