The United States did not make any additional requests for assistance to Ukraine during the visit of the Bulgarian delegation to Washington, Defence Minister Todor Tagarev told the BNR's correspondent in the USA Svetoslav Kozlovski. In Todor Tagarev’s words, the American allies valued highly the cabinet's actions to modernize the army "to be a worthy NATO ally".

''The increased defense budget makes it possible to enhance our capacity to deter potential adversaries and defend our territory'', Minister Tagarev explained at his meetings in Washington. The construction of infrastructure for the multinational formations in the country was also discussed.

"We also laid the emphasis on the assistance to Ukraine, which is a key element of our policy because with Ukraine we are also protecting ourselves", Minister Tagarev explained.
