With the help of the General Directorate for Combating Organised Crime, the Greek authorities have dismantled a criminal group involved in the smuggling of migrants, the Interior Ministry's press centre reported. The Bulgarian directorate was involved in an international investigation coordinated by Europol. The illegal migrants were transported through Bulgaria's southern neighbour.

In the course of the joint operation, four members of the organised crime group, which used 45 vehicles for the trafficking, were arrested. Registration plates, car keys and driving licences were seized. Mobile phones used by the members of the group for trafficking were also found.
