Winter Masters Games in Italy: Anton Kirtschev wins two biathlon world titles

The biathlon races started from the winter centre of Vermiglio, Italy.

Anton Kirtschev won two biathlon world titles at the Winter Masters Games in Lombardy, the Bulgarian Olympic Committee announced. 

Kirtschev dominated both disciplines in the 55-59 age group, first taking gold in the long distance and then in the sprint in competition with Norwegians, Canadians and Finns. The biathlon started from the Vermiglio winter resort in Italy.

Kirchev was a national biathlon athlete between 1986 and 1991, winning numerous national titles and top World Cup rankings, the Bulgarian Biathlon Federation said.
