The bells of dancing mummers and so-called survakari will be heard this Saturday /January 20/ in the towns of Breznik and Radomir, in western Bulgaria. Traditionally, every year, a week before the International Festival of Masquerade Games in Pernik, municipal Surva festivals are held in both cities, BNR correspondent Elena Tamakiarska reports.

In Radomir, the celebration starts at 11 a.m. under the title "The Mystery of Surva". 18 groups with over 1000 participants will parade in the city center and present the customs characteristic of the holiday. The festival in Breznik will start at 2 p.m. with the participation of 19 groups from the region plus 8 children's groups.
