Bulgaria, Greece and Romania to jointly develop renewable energy projects

The energy ministers of Bulgaria, Greece and Romania have signed a tripartite Memorandum of Understanding at a meeting in Athens to develop a number of renewable energy initiatives in the region. The three countries will work together to prepare joint cross-border projects for offshore wind energy, renewable hydrogen and electric vehicle charging infrastructure.

The document states that Bulgaria, Greece and Romania will support and promote a joint initiative to explore and develop the sustainable use of offshore wind potential in the Black and Aegean Seas. The three countries will jointly apply for cross-border renewable energy status under the current Connecting Europe Facility call.
