Bulgaria has received official confirmation from the manufacturer that the first of the medical helicopters ordered by the country will fly from Italy to Bulgaria on January 31. On January 29, the last test flight with a Bulgarian crew on board will take place in Italy. This is what Minister of Transport Georgi Gvozdeikov has told BNR.
Two more helicopters are planned to arrive by the end of the year. According to the contract, Bulgaria must acquire six helicopters, as a budget for two more aircraft has been secured. Thus, the total number of helicopters under the project will be eight. On Monday (January 22), the helipad at St. Anna Hospital in Sofia will be opened.
