Weather forecast for 26 January

Overcast and windy, local snow showers in the forecast

On Friday, lows in Bulgaria will be between 0 and 5°C, 1°C in Sofia. During the day it will be windy with variable cloudiness. In the eastern half of the country and in mountainous areas there will be light rain, mostly snow. Maximum temperatures will be 5 to 10°C, around 5°C in the capital.

Along the Black Sea coast, cloudy skies and occasional light rain are expected, with air temperatures of 5-9°C, similar to sea temperatures. The sea swell will measure 2-3.

Over the mountains it will be cloudy with moderate to strong northwesterly winds. Snow will fall in places on the Balkan Ridge and the western ranges. At 1,200 m altitude the temperature will be minus 1°, at 2,000 m up to minus 7°.

On Saturday, the weather will remain windy with moderate to strong northwesterly winds, considerable cloud cover and precipitation in the form of rain and snow in northern and eastern Bulgaria. Mountain passes may experience snow and blizzards.
