According  to a CIA report, quoted by Nova TV, Bulgaria is the 11th fastest shrinking  nation in the world, and the 25th highest aging nation.

“The projection is that the population in this country will go down by about 30% in the next 20 years,” says Prof. Nadezhda Ilieva from the National Institute of Geophysics, Geodesy and Geography with the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences.
