Contributions for social and health insurance of students working under the system of dual education - learning through work will now be at the expense of the state budget.

The measure will come into effect on April 1, 2024, the Ministry of Education announced. It is expected that the measure will stimulate more employers to join the dual training system.

In Bulgaria, the dual education system in secondary education has been implemented since 2015, but now, for the first time, legislative amendments introduce measures to systematically support employers concluding contracts with students for work-based learning.
