US Ambassador to Bulgaria Kenneth Merten told bTV that a possible sale of the oil refinery in Burgas to a Bulgarian or European company would be a good idea. He said that representatives of American companies visited Bulgaria to discuss the sale of the largest oil refinery in the Balkans Neftohim

"I am not in a position to say how serious their intentions are to buy the refinery," the diplomat clarified and expressed his satisfaction with the signed agreement between the US and Bulgaria for joint work on nuclear projects.

The builder of the new units of the Kozloduy NPP must respect the values of Bulgaria and its partner countries, urged Merten.

The US does not interfere in the internal affairs of other countries, Ambassador Merten stated.

The only advice I can give to those ruling the country is to sit down with their partners or opponents and find a solution to the problems, the American ambassador in Sofia said, commenting on the internal political situation.
