The LNG terminal in Alexandroupolis - Greece will officially enter commercial operation on May 1. This became clear at the meeting of the Energy and Water Regulatory Commission that discussed the prices of natural gas in Bulgaria from March 1.

The terminal was expected to be operational on March 10. The Commercial Director at "Bulgargaz", Veselin Sinabov, announced that commercial operation will start in May. Through the state company Bulgartransgaz, Bulgaria is a shareholder in the terminal with a share of 20%. Testing of the facility continues and the first tanker with technical gas has already been unloaded in Alexandroupolis, Sinabov said.

The price of natural gas in the country is expected to drop by 18% to around 29 euros per megawatt hour. The regulator will make the final decision on March 1.
