Bulgaria's Interior Minister Kalin Stoyanov and Interior Commissioner Ylva Johansson signed in Brussels a Strategic Framework for Cooperation between the European Commission, the Agencies of the European Council and Bulgaria.

The document will enable Bulgaria to continue cooperation with European structures in key areas such as border management, asylum, return and police cooperation. In addition, the preparation of the Bulgarian institutions for the implementation of the new European legislation in the field of migration and asylum will be supported.

The cooperation framework is a continuation of the successful joint Pilot project, thanks to which Bulgaria's long-standing efforts to maintain a high level of security at the EU's external borders became more visible.
