The outgoing government approved the adoption of the "Programme for the Support of Bulgarian Communities, Organisations and Initiatives of Bulgarians Abroad in 2024".
The programme aims to promote sustainable links with Bulgarian communities abroad and to support their structures, organisations and media. The government press office said that the focus for 2024 would be on countries in the immediate neighbourhood (the Western Balkans) and Eastern Europe, where there are established Bulgarian communities.
